Job Description:

PHP MySQL Developer

This multi award-winning Online retailer of entertainment based products is looking for a PHP MySql developer to work across its multiple ecommerce sites.

Required skills and experiences

• Minimum 1 year commercial experience of:

o OOP in PHP 5

o MySQL

o CSS

o Javascript

o HTML

• Familiarity with MVC design patterns

• Strong communication skills coupled with a strong desire for personal development

• Good understanding of object oriented design patterns

• Demonstrable knowledge of web standards

Preferred skills and experiences

• Experience with Linux and Apache

• Use of Ajax and similar technologies to deliver enhanced functionality

• Understanding of cross-browser and cross-platform technical issues

• An understanding of unobtrusive Javascript

• Use of subversion and version controlling systems

• Experience in an Agile methodology, preferably Scrum

• Experience with Zend framework

• Domain knowledge of ecommerce processing including search, payment processing, order processing, data protection and security

• Understanding of scaling technologies and solutions

• Knowledge of the book, DVD, CD and video game retail markets
